Lisnakea is County Fermanagh’s second largest town, although the intensely rural and aquatic location means it only has a population of approximately 2500 people.  Kilmore Quay is situated just a few minutes drive from Lisnaskea and the cottage is nestled on the eastern shore of Upper Lough Erne.

The Lakeland paradise of Fermanagh is ideal for fishing, cruising and other water based holidays. Lough Erne offers water activities for everyone with beginners being offered excellent guidance from qualified instructors at The Share Centre located nearby.  Here you can take part in canoeing, sailing, banana boating, cycling, hill walking and rock climbing.  Whilst at the Lough Shore in Enniskillen, luxurious boat trip tours are an ideal way to see and hear about the beautiful Lough Erne and its history.

Golfers can enjoy a number of courses located in the local area. Enniskillen and Castle Hume Golf Clubs offer good quality courses and practice facilities while Slieve Russell and, the Nick Faldo-designed, Lough Erne are exceptional golf resorts with courses which amongst the best in Ireland.

There are many areas of natural beauty located within driving distance from the cottage including the National Trust owned properties at Crom Estate, CastleCoole and Florencecourt. There are outstanding walks and scenery to be enjoyed and the world famous Marble Arch Caves and Belleek Pottery are also located in Fermanagh

Lisnaskea and the nearby large town of Enniskillen are only a short drive away and upon visiting, you will not want to resist the mix of privately owned boutiques and High Street names mingling amongst the Georgian architecture.  The town also offers local crafts in its historic Buttermarket, a beautifully restored 19th century market centre, and you’ll enjoy watching the artists and craft people at work.  Throughout the county there is plenty of music in many pubs and there is no shortage of discos and nightclubs.  Watermill  Lodge restaurant  is quite close to our property and is mentioned on our places to visit section, there are also many cafés and bars that are readily available
